Akabo Media is a business-to-business media company; operating mainly across the logistics, supply chain and transport industries we produce a range of magazines, exhibitions, conferences and other events both in the UK and overseas.
We produce magazines, web sites and newsletters for each of our titles: Logistics Manager, Supply Chain Standard, and Road User Charging. We are also active in the social media with Linked In groups, Twitter feeds and so on.
The brands are all well established, successful and market leaders. As a highly pro-active and forward-looking company, we understand the value of driven and productive people, recognising success with competitive reward packages.
Akabo Media is looking for a talented reporter to work on its industry-leading publications for supply chain, logistics and transport professionals. You will be involved in researching and writing news and features to tight deadlines – both in print as well as online and our tablet products. This will involve dealing with people at all levels –from shop floor to boardroom within a range of companies – from retailers thought to manufacturers and suppliers.
You will be working with the Editor and other members of the team, however we need a self-starter, someone who can work under their own steam and initiative.
Profile and qualifications
You will need to demonstrate a strong news instinct and determination to make a story stand up. Experience of writing on the web and familiarity with social media platforms is essential.
Though experience in our sectors is not a requirement you will need to demonstrate some experience of writing for senior business professionals as well as the ability to develop an understanding of the factors that drive the markets we cover.
With the range of deadlines we work to, experience of time management skills and delivering under pressure is essential, whilst at the same time the quality of your work, proof reading skills etc. cannot be underestimated.
In return, we offer you the chance to develop your skills within a professional environment and the chance to build on a successful editorial career. We are looking to grow the content side of our business and editorial is at the heart of this.
