European Rubber Journal (ERJ), published by Crain Communications Limited, is the leading print and online publication for the global natural and synthetic rubber industry, covering the full supply chain from plantation to consumer.

This full-time, permanent job involves international travel and understanding a technically complex marketplace, including the inter-relationships between products, companies, regulations and trade associations.

We produce six print magazines a year and short online news stories daily. This is a real opportunity for a lively reporter to drive quality through original reporting. The reporter will also contribute to initiatives in developing data products under the ERJ brand.

The role will include assisting the editor to implement ERJ’s policy via its print magazine, website, other products and events. Duties will include generating and managing the day-to-day flow of content to the website, generating and publishing the daily eNewsletter and assisting with story and picture selection for the print magazine.

The successful candidate is likely to be a graduate in science or journalism. (S)he will be numerate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel literacy. A meticulous approach to detail in subediting and proofing is essential. Experience of writing/producing content in a range of media in a technical/science area would be a distinct advantage.

You will need to be outgoing with good interpersonal skills, able to interact strongly with the industry, be confident enough to hold your own with the CEOs of multinationals, able to interview small companies and attend meetings, events and webinars.
