Journalism.co.uk is a news and recruitment site for journalists which earns revenue from its jobs board, training courses, events (see newsrewired.com), display advertising, listings directories and a press release publishing service (PressGo).
Ideal candidates will already have experience of working on an online jobs board and will be used to upselling at every opportunity, meeting call quotas and handling clients in a confident and helpful manner. The successful candidate will be expected to sell on other portfolios when required and also to manage a part-time online researcher who will assist in sourcing recruitment leads.
Familiarity with social media and web and computer literacy will be essential, and you will need to be self-motivated, highly organised, confident and outgoing with outstanding telephone and written communication skills. All our sales need to be informed ones, so you will be expected to work closely with our news team and develop a strong understanding of the industry we report on.
In return we offer a basic salary of around £25k pa DOE plus generous commission based on monthly or quarterly targets. Prospects for the right candidate are excellent and basic salary will rise rapidly for successful performers.
How to apply:
Please send a CV and covering letter to firstname.lastname@example.org outlining your relevant experience and why you feel you are right for the role (read the job description carefully!).
Your covering letter is your pitch so one-liners, essays and one-size-fits-all templates will not impress.
