Entry to the 13th annual Webby Awards will close on Friday (December 19).

The awards - open to news organisations, newspapers and magazines - recognise the best websites, online advertising campaigns, mobile developments and online film and video of the year.

This year,  National Geographic Magazine Online won the magazine Webby, while NYTimes.com scooped the newspaper and news prize.

Awards are also made for best copy/writing (won by Wired.com in 2008); best use of photography; best business blogs; and best political blogs.

Entry fees for the awards range from $150(£100) to $495 (£330) and submission forms can be completed at the Webbys' site.

The winners will be announced in April 2009.
