Ten thousand euros is offered for 'outstanding videojournalism' in the next Concentra Awards, which will be held on March 4 2009, at La Plaza Hotel in Brussels, part of the digital news summit DNA 2009.

Last year's winner was Idar Krogstad of Norwegion television station, NRK for his documentary Nightwatch, which followed the stories of two nurses working the night shift at a home for the elderly.

"I think the battle for videojournalism is won now. Winning this award means a small story from a guy with a camera from anywhere in the world can move people. My story could not have been done in any other way," said Krogstad when he received the prize.

An additional 'breaking news award' for items recorded edited and broadcast on the same day will again be awarded. The last Breaking News Award was presented to Al Jazeera English journalist Tony Birtley, for his coverage during political unrest in Myanmar.

The closing date for this year's entries is January 16 2009.

Details of how to enter for the award are available at the Concentra Award website.
