AOL announced three new online content partners this week as part of its efforts to build a "premier content network" online.

The internet services company said that the new partnerships with Sporting News, Everyday Health and Move Inc are part of a strategy to "create unique original content, acquire brands, audience, technology and talent, and to partner with leading content brands and influencers".

The company's chairman and CEO Tim Armstrong added that it would be "doubling down" on the strategy this year.

AOL struck deals with more than 20 premium content partners and digital studios last year.
