The BBC has made its entire range of podcasts available for Apple's iPod Touch and its newly released iPhone.

Developers at BBC Audio and Music have created an iPhone-specific podcast directory so that users can easily stream the 5 Live News phone in and Best of Today, along with all other news casts, without having to navigate the usual web page.

"What we've built is a version of our normal podcast directory, but optimised for the iPhone's user interface.

"It allows you to browse all the BBC's Mp3 podcasts by radio station, genre, or in an A-Z list. You can then stream and listen to all the available episodes directly on the device," wrote Simon Cross, BBC Audio senior developer, on the BBC Radio Labs blog.

The move follows the Sky News development of a specific mobile site for iPhone users.

Sky News launched its 'lite' version of the existing Sky News mobile site to coincide with the UK release of the iPhone, last week.
