BBC Training's Good Shooting GuideBBC Training is offering a free online training guide on TV production techniques.

The Good Shooting Guide covers organising a shoot, choosing equipment, planning footage and managing audio.

The course is designed for both the industry and the public, and is the first BBC course of its kind to be provided free of charge outside the BBC. It was first introduced to BBC staff in May.

Content from the Good Shooting Guide is being used as part of a BBC Training collaboration with Bristol-based organisations Watershed and Electric Pavilion, encouraging the public to submit 90-second short films.

"We have a responsibility to the industry to share our knowledge and increase media literacy among our audiences," said Nigel Paine, head of BBC Training & Development.

"The Good Shooting Guide is the first example of how we are reusing and repurposing our internal online content for these groups."

The course is available on the BBC Training website at http://www.bbctraining.com.
