The six month trial offers users free customised news via email. A statement from news.bbc.co.uk said: "If (this trial is) successful, we hope then to launch a new service offering additional options for customised BBC e-mail content.
"Choose the news you want - when you want it, all in one daily e-mail. We will deliver a digest of the subjects you are most interested in. World, UK, Sport, Business or any other part of News and Sport Online; you name it, we'll personalise it for you."
