Channel 4 News has recruited the team behind the spoof Volkswagen advert for a series of alternative election broadcasts.Lee Ford and Dan Brooks have produced three broadcasts, all funded by the Channel 4 News Independents' Fund.
A Conservative short was broadcast last night, Labour will be shown this evening and a Liberal Democrat version will be shown on Wednesday, all at the end of Channel 4 News. All three shorts can be viewed on the Channel 4 site.
"We think it's what the parties would produce if they weren't limited by political correctness", said Mr Ford.
In January the pair produced an unofficial Volkswagen ad showing a suicide bomber failing to blow up a 'tough' Polo. The ad was highly controversial and Volkswagen was quick to distance itself from the ad as it was widely circulated over the internet.
