Communicate magazine, the title for the corporate communications industry, has used audio tool Audioboo to create a new online feature for its readers.

The magazine's website will now host a series of audio interviews powered by an embedded Audioboo player.

The 'Words of Wisdom' feature will offer brief interviews with leading figures in the corporate communications industry, the title said.

The Audioboo player allows the site to caption and publish the 30-second soundbites within seconds of the interview taking place.

"Our editorial staff are constantly meeting and interviewing some really inspirational people. This is a great way of getting them to share some of their thoughts, and the immediacy of the AudioBoo process provides our readers with constantly updated content," said Andrew Thomas, publisher of Communicate magazine, in a release.

Audioboo, which records and distributes voice messages on a range of online and social media sites, was launched in March 2009.

Speaking to Journalism.co.uk after its launch, founder Mark Rock described the potential for journalists to use the site for newsgathering and publishing.

The service has been successfully used by journalists covering the G20 and other breaking news events.

The partnership with Communicate magazine will help explore Audioboo's potential within corporate communications environments, Rock told Journalism.co.uk last week.

The service is also developing a new group structure, where voice messages or 'boos' recorded using Audioboo could be brought together in a private, semi-private or public group, he said.

"This would be useful if, for example, a company wanted to limit access to the boos to a single company email domain or if an event like Glastonbury wanted to make it easy to pool all Audioboos at the event," he said.

The player for Communicate magazine is not a paid-for account, confirmed Rock. The service has previously experimented with paid-for accounts for news and media organisations.
