The conference, which is now in its fourth year, will run from 21-25 April in Perugia, Italy, and features an extensive line-up of international journalists and media professionals.
Gore's keynote will be followed by speeches from El Pais editor Javier Moreno, editor-in-chief of ProPublica Paul Steiger and Luca De Biase, editor of the new media and technology supplement Nova24.
The running order for the event currently includes a mixture of panel discussions, on-stage interviews and documentary screenings with topics on the agenda ranging from citizen journalism in the Middle East to the impact of digital technologies on storytelling and the benefits and dangers of niche news.
Participating speakers also include: Josh Young, social media editor of The Huffington Post; Emily Bell, director of digital content Guardian News and Media; and Moeed Ahmad, new media editor of Al Jazeera.

The winners of the Digital Heretics Award, recognising innovative use of online tools to create a multimedia report, will also be announced at the event.
