PicScout, a developer of online image tracking technology, has announced a partnership with Getty Images to launch a new application giving online publishers legal access to millions of copyrighted pictures.

The PicApp platform will allow publishers and bloggers to select images from Getty and post them to their sites.

The images will carry related advertising with revenue shared between publisher and provider, according to a press release from PicScout.

The application, which is currently being trialled as a beta service to subscribers, will be free to users and is being shown for the first time on Thursday as part of the Israel Web Tour 2008 technology event.
