Guardian journalists are to submit daily vlogs (video blogs) to the Current TV online peer-to-peer news network as part of a deal between the two companies.

Current TV, whose chairman is former US Vice president Al Gore, is an integrated web and TV platform where the users shape the news though contributing video posts.

Guardian reporters will now be among those video blogging. Reporters working for the Salon will also vblog on the user-generated news site.

According to Current, it will package daily vlogs from the Guardian and Salon for TV broadcast - Current TV can be seen on both the Sky and Virgin Media networks in the UK - and create a web-friendly version that will live on Current.com, Salon.com and Guardian.co.uk.

In return Salon.com and Guardian.co.uk will be entitled to run Current-produced vlogs on their own websites.

"When we were approached by Current TV we knew that their profile and outlook was highly compatible with the Guardian," said Emily Bell, director of digital content, Guardian News and Media.

"We are very excited about the partnership and think it will bring our journalism to a wider audience and help us showcase our best blogging talent in a video format."
