To be launched later this summer, G24 will be an eight-to-12 page PDF of up-to-the-minute news that users will be able to download for free from the Guardian’s website.
The new service is being aimed at lunchtime and early evening commuters wanting to read a print-based version of the latest news.
BT will sponsor the launch, which will feature news content from the Guardian Unlimited website across five areas: general news, international, economics, sport and media.
Last week the Guardian announced that it would pursue an internet-first publishing policy for certain business and international stories, rather than holding them specifically for the print edition.
