Journalism.co.uk's next news:rewired event, the fourth in a series of sell out digital journalism conferences, will take place at Thomson Reuters in just over two months time.

The one-day event, news:rewired – noise to signal, will focus on data, offering insight from the experts into the latest tools and strategies for working with large datasets, information from social networks and audience metrics.

On Friday 27 May, journalists, communications professionals, marketing executives and many others interested in the future of the journalism and media industry will come together for a day of debate and discussion on the opportunities for digital media in a data-rich world.

Topics discussed on the day will cover a range of data sources, of interest to both the newsroom and the business side of the news industry, complemented by expert advice on how to improve the quality of journalism, the relationship with audiences and the opportunities for business development.

The day will feature practical advice from experts representing the Guardian, News International, the Independent, Incisive Media and more.

"One of the biggest buzzwords in the journalism industry in the past year has to be data - whether you're a journalist working to find a story within a vast data-dump, a live-blogger filtering through social networks for the latest on a breaking story, a local news outlet pushing a local authority on greater transparency through public data or a newspaper getting to grips with demographic data to better understand their audience – it's fair to say that most of us deal with data in some form on a daily basis," senior reporter for Journalism.co.uk Rachel McAthy said.

"News:rewired – noise to signal, following popular demand from previous delegates, will look at the latest tools and strategies for filtering these many data sources into a clearer signal for newsrooms and business executives alike, to help them make informed decisions on editorial content and the future development of a media business."

Early-bird tickets are available until Monday 11 April at a discounted rate of £85 (+VAT). After this date, ticket prices will rise to £130 (+VAT). Tickets can be purchased at this link and will include lunch, refreshments and after event drinks on the day.
