Women in broadcasting, PR, journalism and new media are being encouraged to exchange ideas and advice via the internet following the launch of a new discussion group.

Media Women UK was set up by media life coach Joanne Mallon last month when she realised that most women's networking is conducted face-to-face rather than online.

"Many women in media, especially freelancers, can feel isolated," said Ms Mallon.

"The aim of the forum is to bring together the best qualities of the coaching and media worlds and use them to support each other."

The forum is free. To join visit http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/mediawomenuk/.
