An email newsletter publisher has produced an 18-point guide to making text email newsletters more readable for people using special access technologies.

The Text Email Newsletter (TEN) standard has been compiled by E-Access Bulletin, an email newsletter on access to technology by visually impaired people that is jointly published by the UK blind charity RNIB and the online publisher Headstar.

Recommendations include placing a contents section at the head of the email, dividing the newsletter into sections, numbering all articles and making all headlines upper case.
