The Press Association (PA) is to 'fingerprint' its content to track how and where it is used online.

The service provided by Attributor, who recently signed a deal to provide tracking for CondeNet, will allow the agency to better monitor the distribution of its text content online.

It is hoped the partnership, which is the first between Attributor and a UK publisher, will lead to new syndication deals online for the agency's content, a release from the PA said.

"Understanding how and where content is being reused is vital to the success of any company publishing online. This helps us ensure our digital services are always evolving, and allows us to maximize the value of our content online," said Chris McCormack, head of digital development at PA.
