News and photo agency Splash has paid damages to actor David Walliams and his wife Lara Stone for "harassment and unwarranted intrusion into their private lives". Law firm Schillings issued a statement today confirming that Walliams and Stone had won
harassment and invasion of privacy
damages from the photo agency after being photographed together in London earlier this year. The images were subsequently made available for publication by Splash. The couple had already obtained an anti-harrassment order last year after they said they had been followed by "unknown persons", said to have been photographers, in the lead up to their wedding. The law firm said this week that this order remains in place. In an apology published on its website, addressed to Walliams and Stone, Splash acknowledged that photographers "pursued" the couple in April this year while they spent the day together. "Splash subsequently made these images available for onward publication. We wish to convey our apologies to the couple for the harassment and unwarranted intrusion into their private lives and make it known that we have reimbursed all legal costs and have paid them damages".
