Nokia's sales team will sell mobile advertising on the Reuters UK mobile site. In addition Nokia Ad Business will offer ad space on branded mobile websites for Reuters' existing advertisers.
According to Reuters, the deal will give the company access to over 100 million mobile consumers through Nokia's partnerships with the service providing companies.
"Working with Nokia offers us access to premium global audiences through its advertising network and will offer broader opportunities to our existing media sales team," said Tim Faircliff, general manager for consumer media, UK & EMEA at Reuters.
The deal extends the partnership between the two companies that saw them collaborate on developing a mobile journalism project.
In collaboration, the project developed a mobile kit for journalists to report and file multimedia content from the field, via a mobile phone, to a blogging platform that was then controlled by editors.
The system is similar in many ways to the new Symbian C++ blogging application launched by Wavelog that allows users to post to Wordpress.com and self-hosted Wordpress blogs.
