Tim Faircliff, general manager for consumer news and business products, will represent Reuters on the AOP board alongside other AOP members including FT.com, The Economist Group, ANM and BSkyB.
Mr Faircliff previously represented Telegraph Digital on the board.
"As the world’s largest international news source, electronically sending stories and information around the world 24/7, Reuters is an active member of the publishing industry," said Mr Faircliff.
"The association is an important forum for the industry to share and debate ideas in this most dynamic of mediums."
• The AOP annual conference takes place at London's Hilton Park Lane on 7 October. Speakers include Ashley Highfield of the BBC and Dominique Busso, chief executive of VNUnet Europe.
