Andrew Marr and Lord Puttnam will be among speakers at the Scottish Parliament's inaugural Festival of Politics, running from 24 to 26 August during the Edinburgh International Festival.

The three-day event brings together high-profile speakers from the media, politics and the arts including former journalist and broadcaster Ted Brocklebank, British Council chair Neil Kinnock and Baroness Shirley Williams.

Andrew Marr and Lord Puttnam will discuss 'reporting democracy' in the parliament's main chamber on 25 August. The Scottish Parliament's website provides live, streamed coverage of events in the main chamber.

“Given the global context to many of the events, and that the main plank of the festival is to encourage greater engagement in politics, it is significant that web-casting will take all the events in the chamber to a worldwide audience,” said a spokesperson for the Scottish Parliament.

Full details are on the Festival of Politics website.
