Data of job losses and gains supplied by Mandis has been fed into a searchable map, which from tomorrow will be embedded on SkyNews.com's business channel.
The map can be filtered by region, industry sector and date, and will be automatically updated with new data as it sits on Mandis' own server, the site's executive producer, Julian March, told Journalism.co.uk.
Information about companies cutting jobs will be released in full, but details of job gains will be restricted to the number of new roles and the area, because of the potential commercial impact of releasing such data, added March.
Individual pins in the map will link back to detailed information pages on the employer and relevant jobs gain or loss.
In February, regional newspaper publisher Johnston Press announced a data deal with the Highways Agency to provide real-time traffic information maps.
