"It's quicker - that's one of the main reasons why I am doing it. I do a 5 to10 minute interview on some news that came out with an executive, and voila - that's a story," said Mr Ali.
Audio blogging works well for conference coverage because it is a quick and efficient way of quickly turning stories around.
But it can also offer flexibility for web users by allowing them to download files for portable MP3 players. That means that longer interviews can be downloaded to be listened to while commuting, for example.
The Digital Hollywood conference addresses major issues in entertainment technology. PaidContent's audio blogging coverage of the event included comments from Andy Beer, director of MSN video, explaining how using video clips in the right context online can attract a better response than TV ads.
Audio blogs are flagged up on PaidContent.org with a speaker symbol. Mr Ali says he plans to continue audio blogging and to introduce clips that can be streamed from the site, as well as downloads.
