Web-based job advertising grew three-times faster than newspaper recruitment ad revenue in the US this year, according to new research.

A study by Borrell Associates predicts seven years of growth in recruitment advertising as the USD economy begins to recover. Recruitment advertising is worth $4.6 billion to the newspaper industry, but that revenue could be increasingly under threat from online job boards.

Recruiters have spent $1.5 billion on their own websites this year, with many corporate sites including job sections that mimic successful recruitment sites.
