Telegraph rolls out blogs for 2006Telegraph.co.uk has joined the blogging brigade with the introduction of seven blogs written by its foreign correspondents.

Writers include South Asia correspondent Peter Foster, foreign editor Alan Philips and diplomatic editor Anton La Guardia.

The blogs were introduced shortly before Christmas and published using a system designed by the Telegraph's in-house technology team.

"Journalists are not the most natural blog writers because they write in a very structured way," said Richard Burton, web editor of Telegraph.co.uk.

"But our reporters were very keen to try blogging, and we started with the foreign correspondents because they have very exciting lives. They have masses of contacts, are fed information all the time and are totally immersed in their work."

The blogs will be promoted throughout the site and print newspaper.
