IPC Media appoints head of digital strategy
Mr Robinson, who joined IPC in 1994 and oversaw the expansion of NME.Com, will lead the strategic development of all new digital properties and report directly chief executive to Sylvia Auton.
He is the latest in a long line of appointments as IPC shifts to put greater emphasis on its digital brands.
He said: "We have proven with our long-established online brands that we serve our consumers as well online as we do in print, but we need to move faster as a company to keep up with their appetite.
"It is my job to make sure we deliver a first-class digital strategy alongside our magazine business."
Mr Robinson is currently the publishing director of IPC tx titles, which includes TVTimes, TV & Satellite Week and Soaplife. He will take up his new role on 16 October.
Sylvia Auton said: "Neil's appointment signals the importance that the IPC Media board places on extending our brand equity in the digital space. Reporting to me, Neil will work closely with the divisional managing directors and their online, digital, publishing and sales directors to accelerate IPC's overall digital programme."
