BBC and Google in video talks

The BBC and Google are in talks to make the corporation's shows accessible through a channel on the search giant’s video-sharing site.

MediaGuardian.co.uk reported that the two companies are expected to announce an agreement when Google chief executive, Eric Schmidt, attends the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday.

According to the report, BBC executives are keen that the search giant will eventually make its content available through YouTube and share advertising run alongside, mirroring the deal that YouTube has with US sports channel NHL.

A spokesman for Google said the company never comments on market speculation.
