Future Publishing has appointed Richard Foster to the newly created role of digital director.

Mr Foster joins from Revenue Science where he was UK managing director.

In the new role, which he starts in June, he will head online developments and devise strategies for sites including the new cycling portal www.bikeradar.com and gadget site www.t3.co.uk.

Mr Foster said: "This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Future.  The company has some great websites with fast-growing audiences, but there is still plenty of scope for development. 

"Future's strength lies in connecting its heritage of compelling content with passionate audiences, and there are many opportunities to leverage our brands online."
 
Simon Wear, chief operating officer, added: "As an incredibly experienced online executive Richard has developed a wide understanding of the industry in a decade with many of Europe's leading internet companies and also retains a fantastic understanding of the traditional media landscape too.

"Alongside our other digital appointments, Richard's skills and expertise will be a welcome addition to the senior management team, as we develop outside of our traditional strongholds."
