Gannett launches 100 local news mobile sites
USAToday, along with 84 of the company's community newspapers and 19 broadcast stations, has launched on the new platform.
The new sites carry local, regional and national display advertising alongside national and local news updated 24 hours a day.
"Local news and information is more in demand than ever by consumers across the country. Making it easily available by mobile device takes Gannett's local information expertise and puts it in consumers' hands," said Jack Williams, president of Gannett Digital, in a press statement.
"Advertisers who appreciate the value of trusted brands, local content and audiences will be able to reach out to those consumers throughout the day."
All are free to access for mobile phone users able to browse the internet, or on other devices by users entering a 'M' before a site's url (example: http://m.tennessean.com).
