ONA announces conference speakers
Jack Fuller, president of Tribune Publishing, will open the two-day conference and awards banquet on Friday 14 November at the Omni Orrington Hotel in Evanston.
Mr Fuller is also the author of 'News Values: Ideas for an Information Age' and won a Pulitzer prize in 1986 for his editorial writing.
Andrew Sullivan, blogger and senior editor at The New Republic magazine, will speak at the conference lunch the following day. Mr Sullivan reports on US politics for The Sunday Times and also writes for The New York Times Magazine.
"Jack Fuller heads up a company that's been one of the industry's leaders in online journalism and media convergence," explained Jonathan Dube, chair of the ONA conference, in a statement released earlier this week.
"Andrew Sullivan has helped demonstrate the power of independent publishing with his influential weblog at andrewsullivan.com.
"Coming from very different perspectives, these two speakers will complement each other nicely, offering online journalists unique insights into the future of digital media."
The Online Journalism Awards will also be presented at the conference, rewarding outstanding web journalism from around the world. The awards are co-sponsored by USC Annenberg School for Communication, publishers of the Online Journalism Review.
