Claire Ward was praised for her work in compiling 'Blue badges on yellow lines', a current affairs web project exploring the problems caused by able-bodied drivers parking in spaces reserved for wheelchair users.
"It's a multimedia site - not just text. I wanted to make the best use of newspaper, TV and radio reporting altogether in one site," Ms Ward told dotJournalism.
"What I like about web journalism is that the project can grow and grow. This site will still be valid in four years because it will be updated all the time."
After working on TV research and local news for the BBC, Ms Ward studied NTU's MA in Online Journalism. She is now working on the 'Achieving accessible assessment' project that aims to make broadcast journalism more accessible for disabled people.
'Blue badges on yellow lines' is due to be published on the NTU website shortly.
Last year, Hasina Khan won the award for her work exploring the problems faced by Britain's South Asian gay community. In 2002, Jamie Baldwin took the award for his report on global warming. Both winners studied NTU's MA in Online Journalism.
