Until now, the site published a static version of the puzzle from the previous day's newspaper and users printed the quiz out to complete it. The new version is interactive and provides a timer and different levels of difficulty.
The Su Doku feature has consistently one of the most popular ten pages on the site, since its introduction last October last week recording just under 500,000 page impressions. Su Doku is currently free but may become paid-for in the future.
"The Times newspaper first brought Su Doku to the UK, then produced the first mobile edition of the game and now Times Online delivers an interactive format," said Alan Cooley, channel manager at Times Online.
