Trinity Mirror has made a host of senior digital appointments following the restructure of its Liverpool titles, Journalism.co.uk has learned.

Alison Gow, former deputy editor of the Liverpool Daily Post, has been named as executive editor (digital).

Andrew Campbell, who was deputy editor of the Liverpool Echo, will become executive editor, while Richard Williamson, former sports editor of the Post, will take up a new role as head of production for Trinity's Merseyside operations.

Following Campbell and Williamson, Gary Bainbridge has been appointed as head of design for Merseyside. Bainbridge was previously design editor of the Echo.

Last month Trinity Mirror announced plans to merge the Post and Echo's newsrooms to create four centralised, multimedia hubs.

The plans are expected to result in 78 job losses across the titles.
