Asset Bank launches new brand asset management site for ITV

In January 2013, ITV rebranded with a modern, unifying brand identity for all its channels. The new identity gives ITV a consistent look and feel across all its activities as a media brand.

When launching a brand or indeed a rebrand, its incredibly important to give clear guidance to both internal and external stakeholders on how to use the brand as well as provide them with all the necessary brand assets.

So ITVCreative, the broadcaster’s new in-house creative agency and production company, chose digital asset management company Asset Bank to create a new brand asset site.

The Brand Bank

The new brand bank created a central brand hub where ITV could manage and share its newly branded digital assets. This gave:

One place for employees, suppliers, partners, journalists and others to download approved brand assets, such as logos, fonts, Word and PowerPoint templates.
Guidelines for how to use the brand assets. Users can read instructions online, and browse and download the brand guidelines as PDFs.
Powerful reports, enabling admin users to track who has downloaded which assets, and for what purpose.
An approval process for new ‘creative’ that uses the brand assets.
Single sign-on (SSO) for ITV’s employees, so they don’t need to remember yet another username and password combination.

It was very important that the brand asset site lead by example in showcasing ITV’s new brand identity. The Asset Bank team worked closely with ITVCreative’s graphic designers to produce a look & feel and visual design that matched the new brand identity and made the site stand out visually.
