India Travel: Scam by Spiritual Gurus, Personal Mantra

The new book “India Culture and Travel Scams” authored by Subodh Gupta is released. This is the only book on “travel scams in India” which are targeted at western tourists.

Following is one of the scams often used by India Gurus from the book “India Culture and Travel Scams”. The money making sales pitch by Indian spiritual gurus goes like this:

“On the Internet you can find millions of mantras. But which one is right for you? Now you can ask Swami XYZ for a personal mantra for your issues of love and relationships, finance, health, or your spiritual way."

"By working with your personal mantra you can bring your consciousness to another level”.

“Swami Ji will connect with your energy and find the mantra which is beneficial, particularly for you!”

The scam here is that these swamis and Indian gurus are misguiding people in their sales pitch. Here they are confusing people by giving impression that by these mantras their problems of relationship or finance can be solved which is not true.

Let's understand why?

There are thousands of these gurus in almost every part of India wearing orange clothes and a long beard to create mystery in people minds.

Let's say these people have magical powers; then why does more than 70 % of India's population live on less than one dollar a day?

Why has India stayed as a poor country for so many years?
Let's say these Indian gurus have the power to create the feeling of love in another person's mind. This is what they claim indirectly when they tell lots of women that they will correct their love and relationship life.

Why has India earned the dubious distinction of being the country where largest number of murders take place in the world, three times more than its neighbour Pakistan and double the figures in United States?

Why can’t these gurus and swamis fill the mind of Indians with peace and love in their own country?

The largest number of riots have happened in the Gujarat state of India, where thousands of people died. Incidentally this is also the place where a number of renown gurus of India live and have their headquarters.

So the question is if their presence is so peaceful why have all these riots happened in their own state?

The gurus in India use the same technique that scamsters use in India. First, gain the trust of women, tell nice stories and create mystery in their mind, and they will do everything for you.

So rather than making people independent, what enlightened Buddha always suggested, these gurus are making people dependent on them by giving false hope.
