A new online training initiative will show companies how they can use their male and female workers’ different approaches to work to bring increased returns and real commercial advantage.
After decades of political correctness has insisted that men and women should be treated exactly the same at work, Gender IQ puts forward a science-based theory that because male and female brains are wired differently, they bring different qualities to the workplace.
The Gender IQ project is being headed by Tracey Carr of eve-olution Ltd, a leading management and leadership development company who work with a host of FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 companies. She will be conducting a series of interactive webinars, with live Q&A, beginning on November 10, which will show how gender intelligence can bring real financial benefits to businesses.
She said: “We are here to bust the myth that men and women are the same. Women make 80% of buying decisions, yet many companies are still run by men. This means those businesses can struggle to understand their customers’ priorities. Gender intelligent companies, meanwhile, enjoy a 53% higher return on equity.
“Gender intelligence is not the same as gender equality. Basing our case on scientific evidence, we argue that there are real physical and chemical differences that affect the way men and women think. Rather than regarding these differences as areas of conflict, we want to use them to maximise commercial performance - and personal success.”
The eight webinars, which will be run once a month until May 2010, will cover areas such as the biological differences between the sexes, personal power, employing gender intelligence in meetings, selling and marketing to the opposite sex, negotiating and influencing, and conflict resolution.
There is a free taster session available on the website entitled ‘There’s No Crying in Business’.
Prices for the Gender IQ webcasts begin at £39 per person per webcast, with discounted packages for companies and individuals who book all seven webcasts. For more information, and to book online, visit www.genderiq.tv

Notes • Gender IQ relies on ongoing anthropological and neurological research and case study evidence to arrive at its findings;
• Sources it has used includes The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine, and The Essential Difference by Dr Simon Baron-Cohen. Brizendine’s bestseller argues that there are enough neurological differences between men and women’s mind to distinguish between the ‘female brain’ and ‘male brain’, while Baron-Cohen claims: "The female brain is predominantly hard-wired for empathy. The male brain is predominantly hard-wired for understanding and building systems";
• Companies and organisations that have worked with Tracey Carr and eve-olution to address gender diversity in the workplace include Barclays, Lloyds TSB, Alliance & Leicester, B&Q and the Metropolitan Police.
