Travel firms need to be prepared for new volcanic ash crisis warns Carerentals.co.uk

25 May 2011 - Independent car rental rate comparison site Carrentals.co.uk is urging all sectors of the travel industry to better ready themselves for the possibility of another travel disruption as Iceland’s volcanoes spew ash into the air again.

Gareth Robinson, managing director of Carrentals.co.uk, says: "The travel chaos that ensued following the April 2010 volcanic ash cloud should have served as a warning for everyone in the travel industry.

"From hire car firms to tour operators, both businesses and customers suffered immensely from the delays. Most worryingly, customers were left in the dark concerning specifics on insurance policies and the ensuing claims."
