Shiny Media launches US blog network
The blogging firm boasts over 40 blogs in the UK focused on fashion, technology, lifestyle and sport. It recently launched five new football blogs.
The US launch of Shiny Style (fashion) and Shiny Gloss (make-up) is intended to coincide with New York fashion week. They are the first two of a proposed ten blogs for the Shiny US network.
The new network - 'written by Americans for a US audience' - will be based in New York and Philadelphia, with contributing editors elsewhere.
"Brits launching US-only blogs might sound as daft as trying to sell ice to the Eskimos," said Ashley Norris, Shiny Media CEO.
"However our existing London based blogs Catwalk Queen and Shoewawa are already in the top ten fashion blogs read by Americans, so we do have a good track record across the pond."
News of the launch comes shortly after a rival in the UK to its Shiny Shiny technology blog for woman was forced to close.
Gadget Candy.com, a blog offering technology and gadget news for females run by Future Publishing, has instead been reduced into a column in stable-mate technology publication T3.co.uk.
