Tomorrow's News, Tomorrow's Journalists

In 5 years

October 9th, 2008 Posted by Daniel Bachhuber in October Debate

Where do I want to be in 5 years? Simple: traveling, and telling the world’s most important stories through images. Newspapers and other print media may be losing their business model from under their feet, but that doesn’t mean the stories they run are any less relevant. There are still going to be water access issues in Rajasthan:

It settles out?

and issues of occupation, violence, and oppression in Kashmir:

Occupation

In fact, we’ve got several very important challenges to deal with in the next 10 years, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and this economic meltdown thing, that are going to make or break whether civilization progresses past the age of computers. Journalists, fortunately, still have the task of translating all of these issues, as objectively as they can, in to terms the public can understand.
