The Global Center for Journalism and Trauma, in partnership with iMEdD's Ideas Zone, is inviting applications for a four-day retreat for European journalists, to be held 14–18 October 2026 in Vamvakou, Laconia, Greece. The programme is designed for reporters, editors, photographers, and multimedia journalists who regularly cover high-impact stories such as conflict, migration, climate crises, and disinformation.
Participants will step away from daily news pressures to reflect on the ethical dimensions of their work, learn trauma-informed reporting practices, and build strategies for psychological resilience. The retreat will include expert briefings, group discussions, and workshops led by senior journalists and trauma specialists, all within a confidential and collaborative environment.
The fellowship covers travel, accommodation, and meals. Applicants must have at least five years' professional experience, be based in a Council of Europe country, and submit their application by 11 May 2026. All sessions will be conducted in English. Apply now:
