The annual Concentra prize for a piece of 'outstanding video journalism' has been awarded to Alexandra Garcia for her piece called 'The Healing Fields' for the Washington Post ,

it was announced tonight at the Digital News Affairs 2009 conference .

Garcia received the €10,000 prize which was first awarded in 2004.

114 entries from 46 news organisations (including four newspapers) were whittled down to a shortlist of eight by the jury panel of nine.

An additional prize for breaking news was awarded to Subina Shrestha, Al Jazeera, for a piece called 'Up t he Irrawaddy' filmed in Nepal.

Breaking news entries had to be shot, edited and broadcast in one day with a maximum duration of 5 minutes.
