Regular contributor to: For 20 years I have been writing pertinent and incisive copy for a wide range of business and trade titles, as well as writing directly on behalf of various government bodies, multinationals and SMEs. Clients include Anglo American, BP, Airbus, the Guardian Group, BVI Finance and Nautilus Minerals.
Recent endeavours of note include my having edited and published Planet B Magazine, distributed to attendees at the UN’s Rio+20 Earth Summit, as well as Global Island News Magazine, which promotes investment, innovation and sustainable development across the world's island states and territories. I have also worked on titles for Hilton Hotels and Resorts and the Globe Foundation.
Other information: In my work, I have conducted and written up numerous high profile interviews with captains of industry, senior executives, UN leaders, government ministers, philanthropists and global visionary activists. This portfolio includes Sir Richard Branson, Chairman of the Virgin Group; Governor David Ige of Hawaii; David de Rothschild; Rachel Kyte, VP at the World Bank; Oscar Onyema, CEO of the Nigerian Stock Exchange; Fulvio Conti, CEO of Enel; David Martin, Head of Sustainable Development at Royal Dutch Shell; Dr. Jose Graziano da Silva, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization; Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO; and Taleb Rifai, Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organisation.
Of particular significance is my in-depth knowledge and experience of writing about the energy, maritime, fisheries, mining, tourism and international financial services sectors. In addition, I have recently been commissioned to write a number of pieces on latest trends and noteworthy developments in the packaging sector for a UK-based consultancy seeking to promote themselves as thought leaders in that field.
Further, a recent private commission saw me write a 30,000 word biography of a leading living UK industrialist and the company they headed up for 40 years. This involved a series of interviews with the subject and their inner circle, encompassing friends, family and business associates.
As well as strong corporate credentials, my experience of writing comedy allows me to introduce pitch-perfect humour to my work, as per client’s requirements. Humour, when done well, is perhaps the very best way of resonating with an audience, yet is a notoriously difficult area to navigate.
I have been acknowledged for my expertise at making organisations stand out from the crowd, and am confident that when “fed into the mix” the copy I produce helps to galvanise public opinion, raise profile, secure investment and drive revenue, as required.
In short, I can be relied upon to create original, engaging and illuminating copy which adheres tightly to the brief, utilising a strong contacts book built up over two decades.
I am able to turn around copy at short notice, am available for ad hoc or regular assignments, and can travel, as necessary.
