Senior journalists from a range of backgrounds will speak at a National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) event looking at the convergence of journalism skills and the training of multi-platform journalists.
Manchester Evening News editor Paul Horrocks, BBC North West editor Cerys Griffiths, Lancashire Evening Post editor Simon Reynolds and Lindsay Nicholson, editorial director of The National Magazine Company, will all take part in the Journalism Skills Conference , which takes place on December 4-5 at The Lowry in Salford Quays.
The aim of the event is to 'take a strategic view of the issues associated with educating and training journalists', a release from the NCTJ said.
Results from the recent survey examining 'converging journalism skills' will also be discussed: it looks at the findings from over 200 media editors and 50 accredited providers.
An evening conference dinner at The Lowry will include the presentation of the NCTJ Chairman’s Award for services to journalism training. Details of how to book a place at the event are available on the NCTJ's website .
