IPC Media has appointed digital director Neil Robinson to the company's main board.

The company said Mr Robinson would lead strategic development of digital products across its portfolio from tomorrow, when he starts his new role.

Mr Robinson was appointed digital director in September, last year, and has been with IPC since 1994, mostly working in publishing music and lifestyle brands NME, Loaded, and Uncut.

Sylvia Auton, chief executive of IPC, said in a press statement: "Digital media is core to IPC's growth strategy. This appointment underlines our commitment to driving the digital agenda through our business.

"Neil brings to the board an excellent publishing track record, strategic insight and an understanding of how traditional publishing skills can be effectively harnessed to drive meaningful success in the digital space."
