IPC Media has appointed Phil Wallis to the new role of senior producer for the digital wing of its Ignite portfolio.

The new role has been created to develop video facilities across titles including Nuts, Loaded, NME and Uncut.

Mr Wallis, who will report to Anthony Thornton, editor-in-chief of Ignite Digital, joined the Ignite section of the company in 2001 as NME's multimedia editor, later becoming online men's lifestyle editor across Nuts.co.uk and Loaded.co.uk.

Mr Thornton said: "Phil has been at the forefront of internet video production for nearly a decade from the very early days of tiny flicking images to today's explosion in on-demand.

"In his previous role as editor of nuts.co.uk and loaded.co.uk his innovations, vision and focus have made them two of the most successful online men's brands in the UK.

"These skills, coupled with his precision and flair in video, are precisely what this demanding role requires."
