Organisers of the Flackenhack Awards, billed as the 'anti-awards' for the UK technology PR and media industry, are auctioning off IT journalists on eBay to raise money for their chosen charity.

Donations made to the Adopt-A-Hack scheme will help support Byte Night , an event hosted by the technology industry to raise money for Action for Children .

The 'right to invite' the journalists to the awards ceremony, which will be held on October 29, is being auctioned, according to a post on the Flackenhacks blog .

Journalists up for grabs include ZDNET's David Meyer , who at time of writing is priced at £26, and freelancer Michael Dempsey , currently commanding £19.99.

Categories for the awards are being asked for through the Flackenhacks blog with suggestions including: the most pointless press release, the rudest journalist in the sector and 'bandwagon jump of the year'.

For more details about the awards email: theflackenhacks@gmail.com.

Tickets, which are £65, can be bought through this link .
