ITN has relaunched its archive of news footage to create a news agency syndicating breaking and on-the-day news footage. ITN Source News will replace ITN International and sell film clips gathered by the organisation to broadcasters in the UK and abroad, as part of ITN Source, the broadcaster's footage sales arm. Content available will include live feeds of events, raw footage, edited highlights and reporter-fronted packages from ITV and Channel 4, says a press release .
Rates for footage vary depending on the platform on which they will be broadcast, but start from £180, plus fees for sending the material to the client, for a 30-second package. A new website has been launched to promote the syndication service, offering examples of footage available through the service.
"The launch of ITN Source News is a key pillar in our growth strategy and enables us to build on our international growth which now accounts for over half of our business," says Asha Oberoi, managing director of ITN Source, in the release.
"ITN Source News gives global broadcasters access to our award-winning independent journalism, gathered daily in the UK and through our global bureaux network, in effect making ITN Source News an extension of their own newsrooms."
