ITN has struck a deal to supply video content to free daily newspaper Metro.

Metro.co.uk will receive video clips covering UK and world news, sports, showbiz and fashion.

"We are really excited to be able to offer our users of Metro.co.uk more choice in the way they consume their online news," says Jamie Walters, digital director at the newspaper.

Metro distributes 1.3 million copies every weekday in 33 UK cities, while Metro.co.uk has 2.5 million monthly unique users in the UK.

The agreement is the latest in a series of newspaper partnership deals for ITN and the second with an Associated Newspapers title after an agreement with the Daily Mail in July last year. ITN has signed similar deals with the Daily Telegraph, Daily Star and the Express titles, and regional publishers the Midland News Association and lliffe News and Media.
